Creativity for Development (Crea4Dev)
The planet’s natural resources are becoming more and more scarce and inequalities between countries and between people continue to grow. The Sustainable Development Goals and programmes of action of LDCs and SIDs, as well as the African Agenda 2063 recognize new forms of sustainable development and inclusive growth, and advocate the power of people’s talents for sustainable development. Creative goods and services rely on ideas, knowledge, skills and the ability to seize new opportunities. In most countries there is an abundance of creative talent: musicians, dancers, film makers, game developers and fashion designers. However, the potential of creativity is underutilized.
Crea4Dev was developed to raise awareness on the value of creativity and culture as pillars of sustainable development.
It will only take you 4 hours to complete the Crea4Dev course, and identify the essence of creative economy and creative industries nowadays and the link between creative industries and sustainable development; and distinguish between the two business models of creative entrepreneurship.
The course is divided in 4 modules:
• Creativity & Creative Economy
• Places, Networks and Connectivity
• The Characteristics of the Creative Labour Market
• Creative Entrepreneurship
Crea4Dev will be available from the 3rd of October to the 23rd of December. It is a self-paced course. You can complete it at any time during this period.
Each module has an animated video. You watch experts which will guide you through the topics. At the end of each module, you take an assessment activity which immerses you in the world of creative industries.
Are you a creative entrepreneur? A government official? Do you work with or are you interested in creative industries? If so, then this course is made for you!
You can receive a joint UNITAR-UNCTAD certificate if you go through all the modules and pass the assessment activities with a minimum of 60%, and upon payment of USD 50.
