UP-CIFAL Philippines conducted an SDG Orientation for Youth (SDGs4Youth) for "U-Konek: Youth Initiatives for Collaborative Civic Education". The activity aimed to capacitate Filipino youth for civic engagement within the Philippine policy environment and to provide young leaders, especially those in Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), with resources and opportunities to participate in governance and policy-making.

At the end of this capacity-building course, the participants should be able to:  Articulate the development and principles of the SDGs subsequent to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the United Nations in the context of education; Explore the relevance of the 17 SDGs in the higher education institutions’ teaching, research, and community service; and Assess and identify how existing curricula, teaching methods, research, and community extension may be aligned with the SDGs for outcome-based learning.
