The agricultural sector in the Middle East and Africa faces significant challenges that require innovative solutions and strategic partnerships. Smallholder farmers need enhanced support through capacity building, access to resources, and sustainable agricultural practices.

This high-level dialogue brings together key stakeholders to address these challenges while aligning with COP16's objectives of promoting sustainable land management, enhancing private sector engagement, and mainstreaming financial institutions in food systems transformation.

Sustainable Agriculture and Agri-Business

The dialogue aims to delve into these complexities, fostering dialogue and collaboration to address challenges while leveraging opportunities presented by the evolving global agricultural landscape. Through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions, the dialogue endeavors to promote sustainable agricultural practices, enhance food security through partnerships, and foster prosperity in the African and Middle East region.

Key Objectives for the Dialogue:

  • Discuss key challenges on facilitating strategic partnerships to promote sustainable agriculture and agribusiness entrepreneurship in Middle East and Africa and identify innovative solutions to overcome these barriers with special focus on small holder farmers.
  • Explore capacity building opportunities to generate inclusive growth and prosperity to key actors in the agriculture value chain of Middle East and Africa, focusing on knowledge sharing, skill development, and access to resources.
