Event Objectives

Overall Objective:

To promote awareness and understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals, with particular emphasis on child rights and inclusive development, through educational and outreach activities conducted in partnership with UNICEF.

Specific Objectives:

  • Raise awareness of the 2030 Agenda among youth, educators, and community stakeholders
  • Promote child-centered approaches to sustainable development
  • Strengthen local institutional capacity to integrate SDG principles
  • Encourage youth participation in sustainable development initiatives
  • Foster collaboration between public institutions, schools, and civil society
Background

The successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda requires broad awareness, understanding, and local ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular, advancing child rights, education, health, equity, and protection requires coordinated action between institutions, communities, and youth.

CIFAL Mérida, in alliance with UNICEF, implemented dissemination activities to promote awareness of the SDGs, particularly those related to children and vulnerable populations. The initiative aimed to strengthen local capacity to integrate SDG principles into community, educational, and institutional practices.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development through education, youth empowerment, and inclusive dialogue.
