Background

Road traffic injuries remain one of the leading causes of death globally among young people aged 15–29 years. Driving under the influence of alcohol significantly increases the risk of traffic crashes and fatalities and remains a major public safety challenge. Strengthening law enforcement capacities and prevention mechanisms is essential to reducing drink-driving and promoting safer roads.

In this context, CIFAL Płock implemented a series of training workshops aimed at strengthening the capacities of local and regional law enforcement agencies in Poland to implement the Autosobriety Training Programme to Prevent Drink-Driving. The initiative contributed to supporting Poland’s Vision Zero strategy, which seeks to eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on roads by 2050.
