Objectifs de l'événement

The activity aims to:

  1. Enhance participants’ knowledge of ASEAN activities and operations, particularly from the perspective of the Philippines
  2. Instigate stronger ties among institutions and facilitate the development of collaborative projects, especially in the fields of migration and sustainable development
Arrière plan

Thailand’s King Prajadhipok’s Institute (KPI), a longstanding partner of the University of the Philippines, requested for UP’s assistance in organizing a lecture on the roles and positions of the Philippines in the ASEAN for a visiting delegation from Bangkok. CIFAL Philippines, having had the most experience in collaborating with KPI, as well as expertise on ASEAN migration, took on the task of organizing the lecture.

Organized in partnership with the UP Asian Center, the lecture aims to be a forum to exchange knowledge and perspectives on pressing issues in the region, including labor migration, conflict resolution and intra-regional trade. Speakers and guests from other units in UP were also invited to further enhance the knowledge exchange among participants.

The keynote speaker is the Philippines’ permanent representative to ASEAN Amb. Elizabeth Buensuceso.
