Objectifs du cours

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the major geopolitical transformations reshaping the international system and critically evaluate competing interpretations of the emerging global order;
  • Identify the opportunities and constraints facing Arab states within a changing geopolitical landscape and identify pathways for strengthening Arab influence in international affairs.
Contexte

The international system is undergoing profound transformation. Long-standing assumptions regarding the distribution of power, the stability of alliances, and the effectiveness of international cooperation are increasingly being challenged by geopolitical competition, the rise of new centers of influence, and growing uncertainty regarding the future shape of the global order. While some observers point toward the emergence of a more stable multipolar system, others argue that the international environment is entering a prolonged period of fragmentation, strategic rivalry, and competing regional orders.

This workshop invites participants to critically examine these developments and assess their implications for contemporary diplomacy. Particular emphasis will be placed on the growing influence of middle powers and regional actors, the evolution of strategic partnerships and alliances, and the shifting balance between global and regional dynamics. The session will also explore how Arab states are responding to these transformations and the extent to which they can act as agenda-shapers rather than agenda-takers within the evolving international order.

Contenu et structure

This workshop aims to equip Arab diplomats with advanced knowledge, skills, and experiential learning to strengthen their capacity in economic diplomacy and international negotiation. By blending theory with practice in a digital environment, the programme ensures that participants gain not only advanced technical competencies but also the confidence to apply them in high-stakes contexts.
