Contexte

Extreme meteorological events continue to pose significant risks to airport operations, critical infrastructure, and public safety across Latin America and the Caribbean. Strengthening disaster preparedness, operational resilience, and interinstitutional coordination has become increasingly important in the context of climate change and the growing intensity of hurricanes and extreme weather events.

The International Hurricane Seminar, organized annually by CIFAL Mérida, and this co-organized by CIFAL Miami, and its partners, serves as a regional platform for technical exchange, operational learning, and collaboration among aviation professionals, emergency management authorities, government institutions, and civil protection stakeholders. With more than two decades of continuous implementation, the seminar has become a leading reference point for strengthening resilience in the aviation sector.
