Objectifs de l'événement

The kick-off session for this second phase aims to launch the SM4A4L programme for the Asia Pacific region and establish a framework for the development of pilot projects. The goal is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of the programme's objectives and structure. 

The importance of strategic partners and facilitating engagement with local authorities will be discussed. Participants will also be introduced to the SM4A4L methodology, the mentorship programme, the e-learning platform, and the next steps of the programme.

The participants for the kick-off session will be representatives from FIA clubs in the Asia Pacific Region

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), has launched the second phase of the Global Initiative "Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life" (SM4A4L). This programme addresses the global crisis of road traffic fatalities and injuries, aiming for a significant reduction in these preventable tragedies. Millions of people are victims of road traffic accidents each year, disproportionately affecting vulnerable road users such as children, older adults, and pedestrians. 

The initiative is committed to building a global community of road safety leaders, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of practical projects for a safer future.

Objectifs d'apprentissage

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the Programme
    • Describe the objectives, structure, and expected outcomes of the SM4A4L programme for the Asia Pacific region.
  2. Recognize Strategic Partnerships
    • Explain the role and importance of strategic partners in the successful implementation of SM4A4L pilot projects.
    • Identify strategies for engaging and collaborating with local authorities effectively.
  3. Apply SM4A4L Tools and Methodology
    • Outline the SM4A4L methodology and its application in developing pilot projects.
    • Navigate and utilize the e-learning platform to support learning and programme implementation.
    • Understand the structure and purpose of the mentorship programme.
  4. Plan Next Steps
    • Identify immediate actions and responsibilities for participants following the kick-off session.
    • Develop an initial framework for implementing SM4A4L pilot projects within their local context.
Contenu et structure

The launch event will be held over two days, which will include:

  • Opening Session: Welcome and presentation of the programme, where regional challenges will be addressed and project partners will be introduced.
  • Working Sessions: Topics covered will include the importance of strategic partners, the SM4A4L methodology, the mentorship programme, the e-learning platform, and the next steps.
  • Road Safety Training: Sessions will be offered on the fundamentals of road safety, evidence-based interventions, monitoring and evaluation, and the assignment of working groups.
