The Institute for Human Services is a Hawaiʻi non-profit organization that delivers various services focusing on ending or preventing homelessness on the island. CIFAL Honolulu is partnering with IHS to help clean and maintain the Hale Mauliʻola site in Sand Island on the island of Oʻahu. The site is a transitional guest site, seeing an influx of individuals, majority of them Native Hawaiian, Micronesians, and other Pacific Islanders. Many of these individuals are facing situations such as divorce and drug abuse, in need of a temporary place of stay while they work to move forward into permanent housing..

Every third Saturday of the month, CIFAL Honolulu will organize a community engagement event to help tend to the land and create a beautiful green space for guests. In the future, we would like to create educational workshops.

Physical labor including weeding, planting, composting, painting, landscaping.
