In 2010, recognizing the impact of traffic accidents on public health in many regions of the world and the need to attract the attention of governments on the urgency of this problem, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2011-2020 as the Decade of Action for Road Safety. The main objective of the Decade is to provide activities at local and national level designed to halve the number of deaths from road incidents. In addition, the Decade of Action outlined the Global Plan to introduce a focused road safety strategy in the national and subnational governments.

Carrier Ecovia Caminho do Mar S/A hold over its administration 175.1 km of roads between the capital and the coastal Curitiba Paraná cities. The operation section and maintenance under responsibility corresponds to BR-277 - large highway commercial and tourist importance in the South, by connecting Curitiba to Paranaguá Port, a distance of 84 km of double track, in addition to road segments PR-508 - Alexandra Matinhos and PR-407 - East Beach, access to the city of Matinhos and Pontal do Paraná, respectively, and provide maintenance on offer highways that connect the BR 277 the cities of Morretes and Antonina. In this section, travels 6.6 million vehicles per year, with 35% of this movement refers to the transportation of cargo.

General objectives:

1. Recognize road safety as a systemic phenomenon of transport, urban mobility and civic culture;

2. Adquire knowledge on anthropological aspects applicable to governance; education and the conduct of road users;

3. Reinforce the importance of recreating a culture of respect in traffic to improve the quality of life.

 

The meeting of the VI Open Forum Transit and Transformation will be dedicated to the specific theme: “A dialogue to train responsible citizens”. Speakers will be invited to present research results and practical actions on the subject.

The VI Open Forum will be held in one single meeting, having 3 hours and a half of duration. Will be invited three speakers and one mediator, experts in road safety area discussed in each specific topic. Each speaker will have 15 minutes of presentation. Is created a space for questions and interaction with the actual participants and distance.

Transportation companies, doctors, lawyers, engineers, psychologists, pedagogues and other interested.
