The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) was adopted in 2001 with the following objective (Article 1):

The e-Learning course “Nanomaterials Safety” provides interested stakeholders an introduction to the sound management of manufactured nanomaterials. Nanomaterials have a range of novel properties enabling many new, useful applications in areas such as medicine, environment, energy production and material technology.

This course is based on the Swedish Chemical Agency’s - KemI - publication on “Risk Reduction of Chemicals”, one of a series of documents developed by the Swedish Chemicals Agency, is a complement to the UNEP Guidance on the Development of Legal and Institutional Infrastructures and Measures for Recovering Costs of National Administration (LIRA guidance).
