Sesi Paraná (Sistema Fiep)

活动目标

The initiative aims to:

  • Support industries in reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions;
  • Strengthen technical and strategic capacity for climate transition;
  • Promote alignment between industrial operations and global sustainability standards;
  • Enhance competitiveness through energy efficiency and low-carbon strategies;
  • Facilitate access to financing mechanisms and innovation opportunities.

The program contributes to SDGs 7, 8, 9, 12, and 13, particularly in advancing sustainable industry, innovation, responsible production, and climate action.

背景信息

The Decarbonization Program developed by Sesi Paraná is an initiative designed to support industries in transitioning to a low-carbon economy, responding to both regulatory requirements and market demands.

Within the context of increasing global and national climate commitments, including the implementation of the Brazilian Emissions Trading System (SBCE – Law nº 15.042/2024), carbon management has become a strategic factor for industrial competitiveness, access to markets, reputation, and financing.

The program supports industries in building resilience and preparing for climate transition by integrating sustainability into business strategy and operations.

The initiative aligns with global climate agendas and contributes to capacity development in climate action, supporting industries in aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international decarbonization pathways.

学习目标

Participants will be able to:

  • Understand regulatory frameworks and market trends related to decarbonization;
  • Develop and validate greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories (Scopes 1 and 2);
  • Define emission reduction targets aligned with business strategy and climate science; Design and implement decarbonization action plans;
  • Identify opportunities in carbon markets, including compensation and credit generation.
    The learning approach strengthens technical, strategic, and decision-making competencies related to climate transition.
内容和框架

The program is structured into five stages:

Stage 1 – Awareness and Training Workshop
Overview of regulatory frameworks, market trends, and strategic relevance of decarbonization.

Stage 2 – Emissions Diagnosis (GHG Inventory – Scopes 1 and 2)
Technical assessment and support in inventory development or validation.

Stage 3 – Definition of Reduction Targets
Technical support to define targets aligned with business strategy and international references.

Stage 4 – Decarbonization Action Plan
Development of initiatives focused on energy efficiency, low-carbon technologies, and mitigation strategies.

Stage 5 – Emissions Compensation or Removal
Training on carbon markets and identification of opportunities for credit generation or acquisition.

Closure and Recognition
Guidance on funding opportunities, project submission, and invitation to participate in the Climate Seal certification.

The structure ensures a progression from awareness to implementation, enabling practical and measurable outcomes.

方法

The program combines:

  • Technical training sessions;
  • Hands-on application and diagnostics;
  • Individualized support for participating companies;
  • Development of real action plans;
  • Connection with funding and innovation mechanisms.

The methodology is based on applied learning and capacity-building, ensuring direct impact on industrial practices and measurable climate outcomes.
