Force Medical Officers (FMOs) play a vital role in UN peacekeeping missions, ensuring quality medical support in challenging environments. This course provides FMOs with a common understanding of UN medical support structures, policies, and operational parameters to enhance their leadership and readiness.  

In the majority of Peacekeeping Operations (PKOs), the appointment responsible for gender-related matters is the Military Gender Advisor (MGA). This is a new role in the military component of a peacekeeping operation.

The United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security on 09 December 2015. This landmark resolution recognizes the positive contributions of young people to international peace and security.
