At the end of the course participants will be able to:

  • Describe vulnerabilities and impact of conflict on women;
  • Identify inequalities intensified through violent conflict;
  • Describe the different roles of women during conflict;
  • Reflect on how women in conflict cope with their challenging situation;
  • Outline the main international legal instruments relating to women in conflict settings;
  • Discuss the role of women and their unique perspectives in peacebuilding;
  • Identify the challenges that constitute a barrier to women’s participation in peacebuilding;
  • Suggest strategies to overcome these challenges building on the experiences and lessons learned from women’s peacebuilding initiatives globally;
  • Critically analyze the impact of women`s involvement and contribution as leaders to post- conflict stabilization;
  • Examine the challenges faced by women leaders in peacebuilding and development;
  • Identify the strategies used to overcome these challenges;
  • Analyze a specific context through a gender lens;
  • Design a strategy to foster women’s participation and inclusion in peacebuilding and leadership, building on good practices and lessons learned.
