Microplanning is an approach that originates at the local level. It is a cyclical process that is used to define the activities, resources, timing, and location of implementation and monitoring of preventive chemotherapy administration. The aim of this course is to train supervisors at the lowest level and all individuals who are responsible for oversight of preventive chemotherapy against NTD on how to conduct microplanning, the process, the steps and the tools used.
- Explain what is microplanning;
- Prepare an operational map;
- Estimate target populations;
- Define approaches to reach target populations;
- Plan the activities, calculate resources, and define logistics;
- Monitor coverage and take actions.
- Individuals who are responsible for oversight of preventive chemotherapy against NTD in planning at the lowest level.
