Event Objectives

This programme aims to promote sustainable and inclusive economic growth by demonstrating how green innovation and smart urban transformation can generate new economic value while strengthening resilience and social well-being. Through dialogue and cross-sector collaboration, the event will: • Share frontier technological innovations driving sustainable industries; • Highlight successful city and enterprise case studies in green transformation; • Encourage public–private partnerships to accelerate sustainable economic transition; • Enhance international visibility and collaboration through media and policy dialogue.

Background

Rooted in the global pursuit of sustainable prosperity, this forum focuses on promoting sustainable economic development through the advancement of frontier green technologies and innovative urban transformation models. The forum on Green Technology and Sustainable Prosperity highlights how technological innovation, green industries, and cross-sector collaboration are shaping new drivers of growth and competitiveness. The event seeks to emphasize how green transformation can foster economic resilience, productivity, and inclusive growth across nations. Jointly organized by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China (MEE), and China Global Television Network (CGTN), the event convenes government leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and innovators to exchange insights on how technology and innovation can accelerate sustainable and inclusive prosperity. The initiative contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular emphasis on SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
