Event Objectives
  • To discuss policy options and regulatory approaches to further incentivize PV recycling and high-value material recovery in Europe and globally.
  • To examine risks linked to illegal or environmentally unsound exports of end-of-life PV panels and identify measures to improve traceability and enforcement.
  • To connect EVERPV technical findings with policy needs under EU frameworks and international environmental governance.
Background

The rapid global expansion of solar photovoltaic (PV) deployment is increasing the urgency of establishing robust policy frameworks for end-of-life management, material recovery, and responsible transboundary movements of PV waste. While technological solutions for PV recycling are advancing, policy, regulatory, and governance gaps remain key barriers to scaling circular practices globally.

The EVERPV project contributes to this discussion by generating evidence on high-value material recovery and circular value chains. Building on these results, this second webinar will focus on policy levers to further incentivize PV recycling, prevent environmentally harmful exports of end-of-life panels, and strengthen international cooperation in line with EU priorities and UN sustainability objectives.
