Event Objectives

An integral component of the program is the exploration of career opportunities within the United Nations system. Participants will gain valuable insights into UN career paths, learn about professional development opportunities, and discover how they can contribute to international efforts in sustainable development and diplomacy. This addition is designed to help youth envision a future where their leadership extends beyond local initiatives to make a meaningful impact on a global scale.

Background

In today’s rapidly evolving global landscape, youth leaders play a vital role in fostering sustainable change and addressing complex challenges such as climate change, social inequality, and technological innovation. Recognizing that empowering young individuals is both a strategic investment in the future and a cornerstone for building resilient, inclusive societies, the UNITAR Hiroshima Office has developed a youth training program aimed at inspiring and cultivating leaders committed to sustainable development.
The program offers a comprehensive learning experience that blends theoretical frameworks with practical, real-world applications. Through interactive workshops, expert-led sessions, and collaborative projects, participants will explore the interconnected dimensions of environmental stewardship, social justice, and economic resilience, all framed by the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Learning Objectives

By fostering a network of young change-makers and encouraging the exchange of innovative ideas and leadership skills, the initiative aims to create a community where sustainable practices become embedded in everyday decision-making, ultimately contributing to progress that benefits both people and the planet.
