Digital sustainability in the healthcare industry is an emerging area of focus both by policy makers as well as professionals in the industry. The “twin-transformation” concept that digital solutions can drive sustainability transformation, and at the same time that the deployment of digital transformation must be based on sustainable principles are crucial for several interconnected reasons, each contributing to a resilient, efficient, and ethical healthcare system: Environmental impact reductions and mitigation, Economic benefits, Social responsibilities, Data management and security, Enhanced patient outcomes, Innovation and leadership.
Digital sustainability in healthcare therefore merges environmental stewardship with operational excellence, ensuring the industry can meet present needs without compromising future generations. It fosters a system that is environmentally responsible, economically viable, socially equitable, and resilient, ultimately enhancing global health outcomes.
It is therefore important to foster and promote the integration of digital sustainability principles, decisions and actions into all aspects of healthcare services and industry in Singapore. This course aims to provide an introduction to the key concepts and decision framework both for leaders, business unit managers as well as the professionals within the healthcare system.
