The Applied Experiential Learning (AEL) Department through the University of Doha for Science & Technology (UDST) Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Directorate will host a training session entitled ‘Pillars of Teaching Excellence’ for new and seasoned educators to equip them with the essential tools and fresh insights to elevate their teaching and enhance student success.

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to: •    Explain the University’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda. •    Identify each of the 5 pillars of teaching and learning and recall their key components and principles. •    Explain the role of each pillar in supporting effective teaching and student learning. •    Discuss how these pillars interrelate to create a cohesive teaching approach. •    Demonstrate the ability to apply strategies from each pillar by developing a sample lesson plan that incorporates effective planning, instructional techniques, assessments, and classroom management approaches. •    Identify the core D2L course management features, such as course setup, content organization, gradebook configuration, and communication tools. •    Explain how each course management feature contributes to an organized and accessible online learning environment for students. •    Demonstrate proficiency in organizing course materials by uploading content, setting up modules, and configuring course navigation to enhance usability and accessibility for students.

The teaching and learning requirement will be achieved through a formal training session, entitled ‘Pillars of Teaching Excellence’.  Teaching and learning will be delivered to the participants through several instruction methods, including: •    Presentations •    Demonstrations •    Guided Discussions •    Case Studies •    Scenarios •    Exercises  The training session will be delivered in a face-to-face learning environment in a classroom setting at UDST.
