Background

The FAUNOS project aims to develop an advanced digital platform for environmental crime monitoring and evidence generation. As part of Iteration 1, the first version of the platform (V1) has been released, requiring targeted training activities to ensure effective use by end users. This first training session supports the operational validation of the platform and contributes to user-driven improvements.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to: •    Understand the architecture and operational logic of the FAUNOS platform. •    Identify the potential of FAUNOS as a tool for generating court-proof digital evidence. •    Use the Geospatial Intelligence Layer to map and visualise potential illegal waste dumping sites. •    Analyse incidents through the Environmental Crime Monitoring Centre and interpret risk assessments generated by the Risk Assessment Module.

Content and Structure

The training session is structured as follows: •    Opening session and introduction to the FAUNOS project. •    Theoretical session on platform concepts and architecture. •    Practical navigation and hands-on interaction with the platform. •    Group dynamics, simulations, and structured feedback collection. •    Review, evaluation, and closure of the session.

Methodology

The methodology combines theoretical presentations, live demonstrations, hands-on practical exercises, group simulations, and interactive feedback sessions. The approach is participant-centred and focused on real operational use cases.

Targeted Audience

Project partners, technical experts, and end users involved in environmental crime monitoring and platform validation activities.
