Background

This seminar is the second session of the “Leaders Talk About Artificial Intelligence” series, a joint initiative between the BAU Science Communication Office and CIFAL. It is designed to address the transformative power of AI across different industries, specifically focusing on the energy sector. The event serves as a platform to bridge academia and industry, highlighting how digital transformation intersects with sustainability and operational efficiency in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Content and Structure

The session is organized into three thematic segments:

  1. AI in Energy Infrastructure (Core Input)
    • Transformation of energy production and distribution through AI.
    • Efficient decision-making processes and long-term investment strategy shaping.
  2. Operational Efficiency & Data (Applied Learning)
    • The impact of AI on data-driven decision-making mechanisms.
    • Practical insights into increasing operational efficiency through digital tools.
  3. Sustainability & Future Readiness (Engagement and Consolidation)
    • The role of AI in achieving sustainability goals.
    • Discussion on future challenges and the readiness of the industry for AI-driven shifts.
