The Specialization Diploma in Armed Conflict forms part of the Master in Lifelong Learning in Conflict, Peace, and Security, jointly offered by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and UNITAR. This 30-ECTS programme combines academic research with practical insights from international experts to help students understand conflict dynamics and develop effective strategies for crisis response and management.

The curriculum includes modules on conflict analysis and resolution, peace operations, philosophy of peace and non-violence, media, conflict and peacebuilding, human security, research methods, corruption, conflict and security, and prevention and transformation of conflict.

This programme is certified by the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) under the Spanish education system and follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). While it is generally recognised across Europe and by the United Nations for employment purposes, it does not automatically grant access to PhD programmes. Admission to doctoral studies depends on the specific requirements of the institution to which you apply, and validation of credits may be required by competent educational authorities.

You need to have at least two years of work experience and/or professional expertise in one or more of the following fields: Legal Practice and Representation, Human Action, Political Science, Cities and Urbanism, International Cooperation, International Conflict, Criminology, Diplomacy, Law, Human Rights and Democracy, Taxation, Public Administration and Management, Mediation, International Relations, or Military and Security Forces. Your experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if it meets the program's requirements. Please note that, under UOC regulations, once you choose this pathway and decide to validate your professional experience, you will not be able to change your entry pathway to present a bachelor's degree or any other qualification later. If you are applying to the program, this field is mandatory unless you choose to enter the program by validating your work experience.
