活动目标

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the effectiveness, legitimacy, and limitations of contemporary international institutions and assess competing approaches to institutional reform and adaptation;
  • Analyse how Arab states engage with multilateral and regional institutions and identify opportunities to strengthen their influence within evolving systems of international cooperation.
背景信息

International institutions have long served as the foundation of multilateral cooperation, providing mechanisms for dialogue, coordination, and collective action. Yet growing geopolitical competition, shifting power distributions, and mounting transnational challenges have generated increasing debate regarding their effectiveness, legitimacy, and ability to respond to contemporary realities. Questions surrounding representation, decision-making processes, and institutional adaptability have prompted renewed calls for reform, while alternative forms of cooperation continue to emerge alongside traditional multilateral structures.

This workshop examines whether existing international institutions remain capable of addressing today's global challenges and explores the future of international cooperation in an increasingly fragmented world. Particular attention will be devoted to the experience of Arab states within multilateral systems and the strategies they employ to advance national and regional priorities through both formal and informal channels of diplomacy. Through contemporary examples and facilitated discussion, participants will be encouraged to consider whether meaningful reform remains achievable or whether new frameworks for cooperation are likely to emerge in the years ahead.

内容和框架

This workshop aims to equip Arab diplomats with advanced knowledge, skills, and experiential learning to strengthen their capacity in economic diplomacy and international negotiation. The training is designed as a comprehensive journey, structured around four interconnected components: Conceptual Learning, Case-Based Analysis, Applied Simulation, and Strategic Networking.
