背景信息

This training is based on Organic Law 8/2021 (LOPIVI) on the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents against violence. The course responds to the growing need to equip teachers and educational professionals with the competencies required to prevent, detect, act upon, and accompany cases of violence affecting minors in family, school, social, and digital environments. The activity supports legal compliance, strengthens protective environments, and promotes a culture of care, safety, and respect for children’s rights across educational settings.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 1.    Analyse the guiding principles of LOPIVI and their practical application in schools. 2.    Identify warning signs, indicators of maltreatment, and risk factors. 3.    Implement prevention strategies and early detection mechanisms. 4.    Activate official child protection procedures without re-victimising the minor. 5.    Understand the role of teachers within the child protection system. 6.    Promote safe learning environments grounded in positive coexistence and respectful treatment.

Module I: Legal framework, fundamental rights and foundations of LOPIVI •    UN Convention on the Rights of the Child •    Fundamental rights of children •    What LOPIVI is and why it is mandatory •    Guiding principles: intersectoriality, best interests of the child, inclusion, non-discrimination, due diligence •    Operational pillars of the law Module II: Forms of violence in school, social and family settings •    Violence within the home: physical abuse, neglect, gender-based violence, less frequent forms •    Peer violence: bullying, cyberbullying, roles of aggressor and victim •    Legal consequences for perpetrators Module III: Detecting violence and acting in time •    Indicators of aggression and psychological harm •    Child sexual abuse: manifestations and signs •    Vicarious violence: detection and impact •    Risks associated with early exposure to pornography Module IV: Teachers and the protection of children •    Role of the teacher within the protection system •    Building a culture of safety and positive coexistence •    Active observation and immediate communication obligations •    Interaction and tutoring as preventive tools •    School protection protocols

方法

The course uses a flexible and interactive online learning approach, adapted to participant needs, including: •    Short video lessons and multimedia content •    Podcasts, readings, and micro-learning materials •    Reflection questions and knowledge checks after each module •    Real cases, official data and statistics to foster critical thinking The final evaluation consists of a 25-question test. To obtain the Certificate of Completion, learners must complete all modules and achieve at least 80% correct answers.
