Invitation to join the Online Community of Practice on Financing for Development

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) is pleased to invite you to join its new Online Community of Practice on Financing for Development. This online Community of Practice aims to support the informed discussion and reflection of key issues of financing for development, the collection and dissemination of good practices and the identification of institutions, opportunities and resources for building capacity in financing for development at the global level

The overall objective of this Community is to create a network of UNITAR alumni and other officials and professionals interested in Financing for Development.

The Community will serve as a platform for members to continue networking and sharing good practices even after a training activity has taken place. It also provides an open forum for dialogue on new and emerging issues related to financing for development, as well as a platform for articulation and knowledge exchange between financing for development practitioners, experts, and other key stakeholders from all around the world.

Activities include virtual discussions on current issues of financing for development, collective development of an extensive database of training institutions, courses, materials and experts; collection and discussion of good practices in capacity development for financing for development; and participatory development of related documents. The virtual discussions will guide the planning of forthcoming CoP virtual dialogues and other activities.

The Community of Practice is open to individuals with an interest in financing for development, such as:

  • Government delegates
  • Experts and practitioners in financing for development
  • Academics and researchers
  • Civil society representatives
