Cohort 2 - UNITAR Residential Programme 2026 - “Leading in the Age of Intelligent Systems: Driving Business, SDGs and Global Impact,”

In an era shaped by intelligent systems, accelerated digital transformation, and increasingly complex global challenges, effective leadership requires far more than technical expertise. It demands strategic vision, ethical decision-making, adaptability, and the ability to foster collaboration across sectors and borders. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide an important global framework for aligning innovation, business growth, and societal progress, calling upon leaders to integrate sustainability and responsible governance into decision-making at every level.
Against this backdrop, the UNITAR Residential Programme 2026 will explore the theme “SDGs and Global Leadership and Management” under the title “Leading in the Age of Intelligent Systems: Driving Business, SDGs and Global Impact.” The week-long immersive programme is designed to provide experiential and practice-oriented learning for technical and management professionals from aSSIST University and SDG Management School (SDGMS). The programme supports the participants’ academic and professional development requirements while strengthening their capacity to lead effectively and responsibly in an AI-enabled global environment.
At the end of the Residential Programme, the participants will be able to:
- Align organizational strategies and business priorities with relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and global partnership frameworks.
- Apply AI and emerging technologies to develop responsible, ethical, and sustainable business and management solutions.
- Design practical and scalable solutions to real-world challenges through case studies,collaborative projects, and applied learning activities.
- Demonstrate leadership, innovation, and strategic thinking through action planning and team-based AI for SDG initiatives.
The Residential Programme will cover the following core topics:
- FUTURE ADVANTAGE: Strategic Foresight & Systems Thinking for Leaders
- EXECUTION EXCELLENCE: Managing and Scaling High-Performance Enterprises
- SUSTAINABLE VALUE CREATION: SDG-Driven Strategy and Sustainable Business Models
The programme is designed as an immersive and practice-oriented learning journey that combines strategic dialogue, applied learning, and real-world engagement.
Participants will progress through a structured sequence of activities that move from conceptual understanding to practical application and action planning.
The programme will include:
- executive lectures
- roundtable discussions
- hands-on workshops
- site visits
- group work
- innovation exercises, and
- participant presentations.
The learning format is highly interactive and participant-centered, using case studies, collaborative exercises, and applied learning to strengthen leadership, innovation, and strategic decision-making skills.
Middle- to senior-level officials and business leaders from a diverse range of organizations and industries across South Korea will participate in the Residential Programme.
