Almost 1/3 of the global disease burden is surgical, yet over 5 billion of the world’s population lack access to safe and effective surgical care. The development of the existing and future surgical care workforce, through training and education, is key to unlocking the enormous potential in low- and middle-income countries, where the need is greatest.

Significant high-quality content exists but is distributed across a multiplicity of sites: healthcare providers in low-resource settings often lack access to context and curriculum-appropriate training material.

SURGhub serves as a United Nations based collaborative repository platform for curated high-quality courses and training resources on Global Surgery. SURGhub provides a distinctive platform that enables healthcare providers working in low-resource settings to access the necessary training required to enhance and expand the provision of vital surgical care.

E-learning platform with 80 courses.

Frontline surgical care workers.
