Artificial Intelligence holds immense importance in today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, influencing nearly every facet of our personal and professional lives. In this context, understanding AI and its implications becomes essential for individuals, the private sector and governments. It empowers them to be able to engage with AI and AI-using technology in an informed manner, understanding the opportunities it creates while remaining aware of its limitations. This understanding is crucial for all stakeholders, including international civil servants and diplomats, in order for them to be able to create the international and national frameworks and regulations required to ensure AI is applied ethically.

The training activity consists of a briefing session taking place in a face-to-face format in Geneva, Switzerland, from 2pm to 4:30pm. The training will take place in Conference Room E at the International Conference Center Geneva (CICG) located at 17 Rue de Varembé in Geneva.

The proposed training programme will be conducted in English.

UNITAR trainings are designed to be highly interactive and participatory. The briefing will utilize a variety of pedagogical tools to enable participants to acquire a thorough knowledge and understanding of the substantive issues at hand.

The training is aimed at officials of  Permanent Missions and UN personnel based in Geneva, Switzerland, for whom it is free of charge.
