The CIFAL Atlanta center at Kennesaw State University is developing a series of lunch and learn events for KSU students at all levels in their academic career who are interested in gaining a global perspective on their future career choice and tapping into international opportunities. Each event will feature a panel of industry leaders from a specific discipline who bring an international perspective from their careers.

This seminar aims to have all student participants gain a better understanding for how their intended careers play a role in the international community and how their unique experience could possibly be promoted to future employers around the world.  Participants will also be able to meet experts and peers in their field to build their network as well as begin to think about global opportunities and resources available to them.

Global Careers Lunch & Learn panels would be scheduled approximately every six weeks throughout the spring and fall semesters, beginning Spring of 2019. Each panel would highlight leaders from within the public and/or private sectors who hold positions within fields related to the KSU degree-granting college being featured at that event, with students of that specific college being the target audience.  The first event will focus on the international careers of leaders in the engineering, project management and architecture fields.  Each series will start with a short introduction/presentation followed by a panel discussion on various topics related to building an international career. The last segment of the series will be a short Q&A session.

The series of panel presentations are intended to not only increase knowledge of international careers in specific fields related to KSU areas of study, but also to increase awareness around resources available for students, potential internship and job opportunities, and skills to help prepare students and build confidence as they consider global career opportunities. These events will also provide students with an opportunity for Q&A, networking and a better understanding of skills needed post-graduation.

The Global Careers Lunch & Learn series is intended for KSU students who are interested in international career opportunities including jobs in government, non-profit organizations and the private sector.
