Amid frequent humanitarian crises, climate-induced emergencies, crippling insecurity, and economic instability, the number of forcibly displaced and stateless people was estimated to have exceeded 130.8 million in 2024.
The "Strengthening Capacities in the Use of Geospatial Information for Improved Resilience in Asia-Pacific and Africa" project (2021-2024) aims to develop sustainable capacities and implement custom-tailored geospatial solutions to enhance policy and decision-making processes in resilience building.
One of the core outcomes of EMERITUS will be the creation of a training program for Police Authorities & other security practitioners focused on environmental crime investigation. The training program is based on 3 sessions delivered in Italy, Greece and Spain respectively.
