背景信息
Plasma4Life is a global knowledge hub aiming to strengthen health systems by improving the accessibility, availability, and sustainable supply of plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs), which are essential for patients with rare and chronic conditions such as primary immunodeficiencies, hemophilia, and immune-mediated neurological disorders.
Despite their life-saving nature, PDMPs remain unequally available across regions due to fragmented policy approaches, limited awareness of the plasma value chain, regulatory complexity, insufficient donor engagement, and lack of coordinated multi-stakeholder dialogue. Plasma4Life addresses these gaps by providing a neutral, evidence-based platform that connects policymakers, healthcare professionals, patient organizations, regulators, academia, and industry stakeholders.
活动目标
- To strengthen understanding of the plasma value chain, from donation and collection to fractionation, regulation, distribution, and patient access.
- To enhance awareness of donor health, safety, pathogen reduction, and product quality standards.
- To promote evidence-based policy dialogue on sustainable plasma strategies and national self-sufficiency.
- To facilitate multi-stakeholder engagement between governments, healthcare professionals, patient organizations, academia, and the private sector.
- To support countries in strengthening regulatory frameworks, patient registries, and long-term supply planning for PDMPs.
- To reduce inequalities in access to life-saving plasma-derived therapies through education and capacity-building.
