Background

CIFAL Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (HJAIA) will partner with the World Affairs Council of Atlanta for the 7th Annual Atlanta Summit on Global Health on September 17th. The summit focus will be on Environment and Health and will feature significant participation from Atlanta Airport. Airports, and the aviation industry, play a critical role during times of disaster, as they are essential to sending or receiving materials and supplies during times of crisis. In addition, airports often serve as logistics and communication hubs during disasters. During this year’s Summit on Global Health, we will have an opportunity to highlight the airport’s role in times of disaster, including relief logistics and supply chain support. We will also highlight the airport’s important relationships with local companies and organizations, like Delta and the Centers for Disease Control, which allow for swift and effective action in times of disaster.
