Background

The Youth Workshop has been emphasizing the importance of youths’ social engagement since 2012. Youths, accounting for 16% of the world’s population, are the leaders of the future. They are witnessing how the Sustainable Development Goals are being implemented. It is not only the governments' or international organizations’ role to care about the biggest challenges the world faces. It is also the youth’s role to be a part of promoting the common goals of our time.

Out of the 17 SDGs, promotion of sustainable economic growth and descent work for all are considered to be rooted in the targets of many of the rest 16 goals. This issue is very relevant to youth, as they are getting ready to step out to the society and build careers. Even though they need to make arduous efforts to address such issues, they have your own advantages, such as their energy, creativity and adoptability. It is important to encourage youth to identify and address current issues and also help them equip themselves with an ability to foresee future problems and then act on them.
