Background
The Summit for Refugees and Migration approaches, and the international community must come to a consensus on how to address the needs of the 65 million displaced persons in the world today. During this process multiple international issues will be discussed ranging from humanitarian need to state sovereignty and border security.
Event Objectives
Assembling a panel of experts and diplomatic leaders intimately knowledgeable with the issues facing states, migrants, and refugees, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations endeavour to prepare delegates of all States to respond to and seek the good of currently displaced peoples while creating a framework to aid and care for future displaced peoples.
