Background

Malawi is one of five pilot countries that implement a UN CC:Learn Project on Strengthening Human Resources and Skills to Address Climate Change in 2011-2013. The projects aim at supporting countries in taking a strategic and results-oriented approach to climate change learning. The project in Malawi is coordinated through a National Coordination Mechanism bringing together different Government sectors, national universities, private sector and civil society organizations. Through a multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral process the country will develop a National Strategy to Strengthen Human Resources and Skills to Address Climate Change.

Event Objectives

In order to promote integration of climate change knowledge, skills and attitudes into the primary school curriculum of Malawi, Malawi organises a workshop to produce a poster centred on the message Climate change is real. Act now!. It is then going to be field tested in 15 primary schools covering the districts of Zomba, Machinga and Balaka.
