Background

Technology offers a valuable means to tackle the world’s most critical challenges, a truth which has been made all the more evident through the transformative impact of artificial intelligence over the last few years. Embedding technology within the framework of justice offers avenues for increased efficiency, accessibility, and transparency. Likewise, the active involvement of youth and public-private partnerships in this field becomes imperative, as their fresh perspectives and digital proficiency contribute to innovative solutions that align with the evolving needs of society.

In light of these developments, adapting legal frameworks to accommodate technological progress will be a necessary step to ensure that the rule of law evolves alongside these societal changes. The amalgamation of justice, technology, youth, and the modern rule of law is not only relevant but essential for creating a resilient, adaptable, and equitable legal system that serves the dynamic needs of society at large.

Event Objectives

The "Justice, Tech & Youth Innovation Challenge: Bridging the Gap Between AI and Modern Rule of Law" aims to encourage the mutual exchange of ideas through training workshops, and ultimately, the Hackathon, which will provide a platform for effective public, public-private and civil society partnerships, and build on the experience of this broad range of stakeholders. This forum will serve as a catalyst for fostering innovation within the legal and justice systems, positively influencing the lives of citizens, as well as making justice more inclusive, transparent, and responsive to the evolving needs of society.
