Background

The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), has launched the second phase of the Global Initiative "Safe Mobility 4 All and 4 Life" (SM4A4L). This programme addresses the global crisis of road traffic fatalities and injuries, aiming for a significant reduction in these preventable tragedies. Millions of people are victims of road traffic accidents each year, disproportionately affecting vulnerable road users such as children, older adults, and pedestrians.

The initiative is committed to building a global community of road safety leaders, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the implementation of practical projects for a safer future.
