Background
York University serves as a reception and decontamination centre for those who may be affected by a nuclear accident in the Greater Toronto Area. An exercise hosted by OPG and the City of Toronto’s Emergency Management team is designed to test response capabilities and strengthen the partnership between all of the stakeholders involved.
Event Objectives

Oversee the safe and efficient decontamination of people, vehicles, and animals (pets).

Participate in the coordination of incident site organization and communications.

Observe and ensure the safe movement of clients along predetermined paths and within the areas of play at York University.

Observe and participate in all exercise activities to determine recommendations for improvement for future incidents.
