Background
This seminar aimed to raise awareness among university students about dating violence and gender-sensitive approaches. With contributions from CIFAL Istanbul, UNITAR, and Bahçeşehir University, this event aligns with SDG4 (Quality Education), SDG5 (Gender Equality) and SDG10 (Reduced Inequalities), highlighting its importance for CIFAL Istanbul.
Content and Structure
The seminar included two sessions. The first, led by Assoc. Prof. Feyza Ak Akyol, focused on gender identity, stereotypes, and non-violent communication. The second session, presented by Prof. Dr. İpek Merçil, addressed types of violence against women, legal aspects, and the definition and types of dating violence. This comprehensive seminar not only educated participants on critical issues but also encouraged the development of inclusive and respectful campus environments.
Methodology
The event was led by a detailed education.Which ensured participants gain theoretical insights to address violence and foster inclusivity.
