Background

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) plays a crucial role in accelerating global efforts towards disaster risk reduction to achieve inclusive sustainable development. As the lead agency within the United Nations system for coordinating disaster risk reduction, UNDRR offers an e-learning course titled "Risk Assessment for National Planning Processes".

Better decisions about risk require a deeper understanding of its complexities and relationships with sustainable development. UNDRR collect, collate, and share the latest high quality technical information and data about reducing risk and building resilience more effectively. UNDRR works closely with countries to help them build and strengthen integrated systems to manage risk and implement evidence-based policies in a way that mainstreams DRR across all areas of governance at the local, national and regional levels.

This course serves as a valuable resource, equipping participants with the necessary knowledge to understand the benefits of risk analysis in supporting and integrating disaster risk reduction and risk assessment into national planning processes.
