The personal data of participants applying for, registering for or participating in UNITAR's training courses and other events is governed by the Data Protection and Privacy Policy. By applying for, registering for or participating in this event, the participant acknowledges that he or she is, (or they are) aware of the policy and agree to its terms.

At its inception, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), was founded to provide delegates of newly independent states with the skills and knowledge to perform successfully in multilateral settings. Over the past 60 years, the Institute has developed unparalleled expertise in training diplomatic staff to accomplish their duties and to meet contemporary challenges facing the international community.

The mission of UNITAR is to provide participants with the skills, knowledge, and tools to be able to address and solve contemporary complex global issues. The Institute is committed to strengthening this endeavour and enhancing its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, in recent years, the Institute has expanded its training offerings, and partnered with centres of excellence to launch Executive Education and Master's Degrees available to the wider public.

UNITAR is pleased to launch the second edition of its  Open Day: UNITAR Programmes in Diplomacy and International Law. This free event will showcase UNITAR's Master's Programmes, Executive Education, Training, and Immersion Programmes. Participants will be able to directly engage with UNITAR staff and resource persons to ask any questions they might have regarding UNITAR's programmes, and learn more about how these programmes address issues ranging from international affairs to international law, diplomacy, development, human rights, anti-corruption, the cyberspace, science diplomacy, diplomatic practice, and business leadership.

The Open Day: UNITAR Programmes in Diplomacy and International Law is presented in partnership with:

  • University for Peace (UPEACE)

  • Stirling University

  • Seton Hall University (SHU)

  • Universidad Europea de Valencia (UEV)

  • Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC)

  • International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA)

Open Day: UNITAR Programmes in Diplomacy and International Law will provide participants with the necessary background information to make informed decisions about their future education for lifelong learning and the development of skills for career advancement. It will give participants practical information on the Institute's upcoming activities, and will also offer the unique opportunity to directly engage with UNITAR officials, partner staff, and senior experts to gain exclusive insight into their work as professionals of multilateral diplomacy. In the process, the Open Day will provide a glimpse into potential future careers following the completion of a degree or training with UNITAR.
