Contexte

This course aims to guide you through the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) annual reporting process. You will examine the treaty's purpose and legal foundation, understand your reporting obligations and their benefits, and learn the practical steps to initiate and manage your national reporting cycle. By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for timely, accurate, and effective ATT annual reporting within your national context.

Contenu et structure

Module 1: Explains the purpose, legal context, benefits, and overall process of ATT annual reporting, including roles and responsibilities.

Module 2: Covers planning and preparation steps, including scheduling, stakeholder coordination, data scope, and addressing confidentiality and institutional support.  

Module 3: Focuses on identifying data sources, engaging institutions, collecting and validating data, and processing it according to ATT categories and rules.

Module 4: Guides users through compiling the report, checking for errors, securing approvals, finalising content, and submitting to the relevant authority.

Module 5: Emphasises documenting procedures, ensuring continuity through handover mechanisms, and strengthening long-term national reporting capacity.
