Contexte

We are partnering with University of Victoria Libraries and the Critical Humanities Commons to host a drop-in open forum on the future of AI in higher education as part of UVic Humanities Week. Students can mingle with their peers and share their opinions, experiences, and concerns about the role of AI in education and sustainability. These dynamic conversations will help inform future events and services at UVic to support students as they navigate these complicated issues.

Objectifs du cours

To engage students on the topic of AI and sustainability at uvic, to learn more about student concerns, needs, interests, and opinions. Ultimately the objective is to inform future services and training that both CIFAL Victoria and the Library can offer students on these subjects.

Méthodologie

Students are invited to drop in when they want, and to come and go as desired. Prompt questions are posted on posters around the room(s), to invite discussion about AI, sustainability, ethics, and how these things are impacting their UVic experience. Pends and sticky notes are provided so that participants can write down and share their thoughts, opinions, and ideas. These are then documented at the end of the session.
