Arrière plan

In a time of shifting humanitarian needs, fragile peace, and deepening crises, how can transnational communities help drive true local change?

Join UNITAR and Oxford Brookes University for an eye-opening webinar featuring MA Humanitarian Action and Peacebuilding (MAHAP) graduate Jelena Vougianovits.

Gain a closer look at how diasporas drive change in Lebanon through Jelena’s research, “Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian Diasporas’ engagement in the localization and decolonization process of humanitarian aid and recovery in Lebanon (2023).”

→ What does effective diaspora engagement really look like in humanitarian response and recovery?
→ How can local voices shape more equitable, sustainable aid and peacebuilding practices
→ What is it like to undertake research and professional growth as part of the MAHAP programme?

No matter if you’re already working in the field, considering graduate study, or simply care about creating positive change, we warmly invite our learning community to join us for an open and honest conversation. Jelena’s research could not be timelier. Her work shines a light on real stories of resilience and agency in Lebanon, reflecting the complex global shifts impacting humanitarian action today. This is your chance to connect, share your own perspective, and see how the MAHAP programme helps people turn lived experience into meaningful impact.
