Antecedentes

Gender violence is a global reality with devastating consequences, normalized by cultural norms. In Spain, 60 women are murdered each year by their partners or ex-partners, yet only 0.8% of society sees it as an urgent issue. This course invites you to reflect and take action for real change. It is coordinated by 4 Soifi, the first social impact company in the field of justice, connecting businesses, governments, and foundations with prevention initiatives in security, sustainability, peace, and justice. Through educational programs, 4 Soifi equip young people with tools to build a future free from social exclusion and with greater employability opportunities.

The course has the following objectives: ●    It aims to understand gender violence in society, recognize fundamental values such as respect and equality. ●    Reflect on our contribution to a more equal and violence-free society. ●    Provide young people with the tools to avoid becoming victims or perpetrators of this social scourge.

Contenido y estructura

 The course includes the following modules:  1.    Current Context: The Reality – Explore the dimensions of reality, self-awareness and ignorance, and gender violence.  2.    "I'm Not Machista": How Culture Shapes Men Through Masculinity – Reflect on models of masculinity and femininity, and analyze machismo as both behavior and culture.  3.    Why Girls Change and Boys Don’t – Social reality and experiences are not the same for boys and girls; gender violence is severe and structural.  4.    Gender Violence – Definition according to national and international laws, types, and common myths.  5.    The Cycle of Gender Violence – Understanding the cycle of gender violence and how to recognize it.  6.    You Can Make a Difference – Let’s Try – The androcentric model does not benefit everyone. Changing it is essential for collective well-being.  7.    Being a Man Today – Masculinity evolves over time; feminism fights machismo, not men.  8.    Video: Immersion in María's World – Understanding and preventing psychological gender violence.

Metodología

●    30 hours of the course will be asynchronous virtual and 45 of personal work. ●    80% of the final grade will be obtained through: – Online questionnaire for each module – Final multiple-choice exam ●    The remaining 20%: – Submission of a report/summary of the course and its evaluation.

Público objetivo

This course is open to the public but is specifically aimed at young people aged 15 to 22.
